Technical sheet PDFTasting notes
When your neighbours are Lafite Rothschild, Mouton and Pontet-Canet, you have to hold your own. Chantecler’s tiny hectare (a survivor of Fleur Milon) yields a single micro-cuvée that refuses to be outdone. Refined for 18 to 20 months in barrel (60% new). An exuberant nose of blackberries, black cherries, balsamic notes, anise and vanilla. True to its terroir, the structure is that of a scrum-half: imposing, powerful and firmly anchored by high acidity and sturdy tannins. The long finish reminds us that patience will be needed for a few years (8 to 10 years and more) before it can be tamed. In this small-yield 2023 vintage, Pauillac came out on top. We are confident!
